    Humidity and water bowl placement

I have read that placing the water on the hot side of the emxlosure. Is this correct and wouldn’t the water get too warm.

I change my water and disinfect theur bowl every day.

What do you all suggest to keep humidity levels up. They are housed in ap t8 cages with rhp heat.

    Thanks

Re: Humidity and water bowl placement

I keep my humidity levels up with the substrate. I use ecoearth, so when the humidity levels start to fall, I mix in some water in a few patches and we're good to go! PVC enclosures are fantastic for humidity, but they do need a boost every now and then.

We just recently moved and for some reason this house is crazy dry. I hooked up a small humidifier in the reptile room, which has also helped a lot.

Yes placing the water on the hot side increases humidity in our enclosures which are 10, 20, and 40 gallon tanks. I have no experience with t8 cages. No our water does not get too warm, it stays a few degrees cooler than the air directly above it and we frequently see our snakes drinking from and moving thru the water. If in doubt pick up a cheap thermometer in the aquarium section of Walmart and place it in the water. You change water and disinfect the bowls every day? Why? Don't you think that's a bit OCD?
