    Desert Ghost Infertility

I know this has been visited a bunch of times, but the searches are not giving me the answer I need right now. Even though I just recently said I'm done, I have a trade opportunity for a few Leopard Geckos for a BP. I have two to choose from. Here is part of the listing with prices redacted. They are both females.

Tiger Het VPI axanthic, PH Jolliff axanthic & Ghost
Super Tiger Jolliff Axanthic PH VPI Axanthic & Ghost

I'm not familiar with Tiger, but it comes up as Enchi Desert on WOBP. The Super is a Super Enchi Desert. I could use some Enchi. The hets and possibles are just a bonus. I really can't use the Joliff as I work with VPI, but it's there. Maybe the ghost will prove out at some point.

Now, here 's the question. Is it Desert or Desert Ghost where the females are infertile? Will I be able to use these girls if they are Enchi Desert or are they just nice looking pets?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

It's 'desert' that has the trouble not ghost. Any desert female is a pet, including the tiger.

Also 'desert ghost' is totally different than ghost and not a combination of desert and ghost.

Yeah, both those snakes will just be pets if you do make the trade for either of them.

There is also a less known morph called the "Jolliff Tiger", which is a reduced pattern banded animal produced by Michael Jolliff. It does have a super form. From the looks of things, that is what is being listed for sale - not the Desert Enchi combo.

I forgot about the Jolliff Tiger, I bet you're right. Did the Jolliff Tiger ever really amount to anything? I just recall the name from a while back.

And for the record, Desert and Desert Ghost are related in name only.

Desert is the incomplete dominant morph whose females cannot reproduce.

Desert Ghost is the recessive morph that's quickly gaining in popularity right now.

    Re: Desert Ghost Infertility

That's what I thought so thanks to all that replied to this. I'll inquire about the Jolliff Tiger and see if that's what it is.

Not really. Every once and awhile I see one pop up in conversation, but that's about it.

Joliff tiger make very nice reduce pattern animals, but' it's nothing more than a genetic reduced pattern, I used to have a female Tiger Albino and now I have two of her offpsring (DH Albino Pied)

Once person still working with those is Will Bird however he just now calls them banded and super banded http://ectotherms.accountsupport.com/?p=824
