Ball Python with wrinkly skin/scales sticking up?
I was handling Abbott earlier today when I accidentally ran my finger towards his head instead of away from it, and I noticed he had a few small patches of scales sticking up, and his skin was wrinkling when he moved.
Could it be that he's going in shed, considering he's nearly doubled in size since I got him, or is this a sign of low humidity? We've had a very dry winter but I've been misting his tank/the paper towels on top, and my parents have also been doing that when I'm at school.
He does have a humid hide and sphagnum moss scattered around his tank.
Sorry if I seem a little paranoid, I've just never had a snake before.

You will snag on some scales if you go "against the grain".. it's hard to say without pictures, but it's pretty normal to feel that if you go against their scales like that. You shouldn't.
As far as the wrinkles, once again, pics would help. But if you're talking about some wrinkles in their bends when their coiling, that's pretty typical.
What's your husbandry like?

He's in a 40 gallon, but since he's small we blocked off half of the tank. He has a hide on the warm side, (which is usually 86-90 f), one in the middle, and one on the cool side (76-78 f), he has a humid hide full of moss, and I use cypress mulch as a substrate. He has a waterbowl on the cool side. His humidity is usually 50-60.
I have him in a glass tank, with a screen top that I cover with a scarf and damp paper towels.
I'll take a picture and post it here as well.

Re: Ball Python with wrinkly skin/scales sticking up?
I've noticed that the scales sticking up have gone down, so it might've just been from his scales being rubbed the wrong way, and he only wrinkled when he was coiling. I also noticed his belly was getting pink, so now I'm starting to think it's just him shedding

As long as your humidity levels are OK and you are changing your water out regularly there shouldn't be an issue. I would say it's because he is due for a shed very soon.
