    Successful F/T conversion!

When I first got my girl Cersei, she was started on F/T. I was getting a large mouse from petco around $4/each. A few months later, we move into a new place and there is a pet shop that sells live feeders less than 5 minutes away so it was easier and cheaper to feed her live. I then purchased my male, Kingslayer, April of this year and he was around the same size as my girl so they both ended up on live weened rats. Fast forward to the present, they are both on small rats that were costing me around $8 for the pair each week.

Well I recently came across post on here of someone selling F/T feeders super cheap near me. The post was around 2 years old but I still ended up emailing him and sure enough he was still in business. So I drove down, picked up some F/T small rats, enough to last a few months. Headed home and heated two of them up to 103F and withing seconds both my snakes took them. I am so happy they did not put up a fuss! After 6 months of live feedings, they took F/T on their first try.

Only thing I did was skip their meal last week in order to make sure they were nice and hungry!

Now, I know my boy will stay on small rats for the rest of his life, but when would it be a good time to switch my girl to medium rats? She currently at around 1100g. What would be a good weight to switch them to medium rats?

I think my adult female is around 1625g and she's on small mediums. Like, 100g to 120g. If you are feeding 10% of her body weight, she could have 100g rats. I was told never to go above small mediums with a female, unless they are huge.

BTW, GORGEOUS snakes!! Wouldn't mind seeing more pics!! Are you going to breed them?

The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

What are they? It's hard for me to tell exactly from the pictures. Lesser and Pastel?
EDIT : no, it can't be a pastel.

    Congrats.

I do exactly what that other guy does. I order a few hundred dollars worth of f/t even though I only need small pinkies and hoppers, and I divide shipping across the others and sell them locally.
