    New BP age? Any pointers?

So, like probably everyone else here, I quickly decided I wanted more BPs and came across a sub adult mojave male. I adopted him from a younger girl that didn't seem to know much about him. Said she had gotten him from an expo but couldn't keep him. He came to me in a tuber ware box with a small heat pad and nothing else. She never regulated the temps but when we got home and set it up as best as we could they never reached above 71. So we transfered him to a 30 gal with a new UTH and a lamp. We got him on a whim so his hides and water bowl are all things we found around the house but he doesn't seem to mind, we will deck his cage out and likely transfer him to a 40 gal here soon but I want him to relax for now. He seems like an extremely friendly guy, showed no sigbs of stress, aggression, or even fear really. Total love bug, curious and aloof, timid easy going. He weighs 887g and looks to measure about 2 1/2 - 3 feet. I never got an age from her, or whether he eats live or f/t. I feed my other baby live. She said she had offered him f/t but he didn't seem interested, she also said she had him almost 3 weeks and he hadn't eaten. I'm wondering if this was because he was so cold? Hopefully he will get an appetite after he settles in to his home. but from his size what do you guys think his age is? And any tips for feeding him, or anything I may need to know?

My male pied is about that size and is roughly 2 years old (at least that's what the previous owner said) and he wouldn't eat for me for over a month but I finally figured out how to get him to eat. I get him a pre killed small rat from my local shop and then I put it on his warm side of the tank and leave it over night, by the morning it is always gone. He won't eat f/t or live but he will prekilled.

Good luck and congrats on the new addition!

He's probably between 1.5 years and 2 years old... given the circumstances I would get his temperatures and humidity right immediately. Also watch for any signs of RI since the previous owner had no clue what she was doing. Good luck and post some pictures!

I am definietly focused on doing that. His temps are still evening out a but, but much better than the 71 degrees he has been in. At least he looks healthy otherwise. Very alert, flicking his tongue, drank already, a good size, sweet. Just seems he had a few rough weeks.
