    Color enhanching genes

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for genes that enhance the colours of other genes. With this i mean genes like fire, and is enchi also one of them?

Then it would also be nice if they can be seen if i'm able to put them into 1 snake.

    Re: Color enhanching genes

If by color enhancing you mean brightening, then Fire and Yellow Belly are two of the most popular color enhancing genes. Hypo is also a great one, but is a recessive gene so it is possible to be carrying the gene and not show it visually (called a "het Hypo"). Enchi is color enhancing, but is generally thought of more as pattern cleaning. Many genes are both color and pattern changing versus only doing one or the other primarily.

I also get the sense that you're asking for a larger reason. What do you have in mind that you're wanting to being out the best in?

Pastel, fire, vanilla, enchi, hypo, congo, epic, xtreme gene, orange dream are the ones off the top of my head. Even yellow belly depending on the combo.

Orange dream is definitely a good brightening gene from all that I've read and seen. Enchi is a "cleaning up" gene.

    Thanks for your respond.
I'm looking for the genes that i can combine with the most combinations that are already known to make them even more beautiful and special.
For example a dreamsicle, but adding fire to it to brighten it up. Or coral glow with any of the genes that make it even more beautiful.

Besides enchi, are there more cleaning up genes?

Desert ghost does a very good clean up job. Whether a gene is brightening or cleaning depends very much on what other genes you are working with and what you want to achieve. Personally I am not a massive fan of fire in a lot of combos because it can disrupt the pattern, reduce contrats and wash out colours (technically cleaning them up, but not necessarily what I want). Fire can be very good in axanthic combos for precisely the reasons that I don't want it in non axanthic. Quite a few genes that people don't consider are useful; het daddy (subtle but nice), a g-stripe het (see what it can do to clean pastel), spotnose, blade (particularly with clown/enchi) and even ghost (depending on the colour bias). Be creative at how you look at different morphs and how they can be used to get the results that you want. In particular consider the possible effects of certain recessive hets in combination with other genes.
