    Quick breeding/locking question...

If when the male and female lock, is it possible for them to unlock immediately if they're disturbed? Or does a lock literally lock them into place, and they can't separate no matter what the disturbance until a few hours later (which is what I initially thought... coming from dogs)?

And for those in SoCal or places with no low pressure systems or much rain or storm, do you just pair them at any time?

    More questions... LOL...
I've read that the female will seek the cooler end of the cage when she's ovulating. But if I leave the hide in (which is on the warm side), I'm pretty sure she'll just go in the hide, wherever it is. I don't use racks, just tubs on heat pads. Should I put the hide on the cold side then, warm side, or just take the hide out? Or will a stressed female without a hide produce slugs?
