    Monitoring temps from a smartphone

    Hi All,

I remember seeing a product that would allow me to monitor the temps in my snakes room via my smartphone, but cannot for the life of me remember what it is called. Does anyone know? My heater has gone a bit crazy and lastnight must have been on all night. This morning my snake room was over 105 degrees! The snakes are fine, but I don't want it happening again.

There may be others, but upon some real fast google research Acu-rite sells a system to monitor temps. According to their website, the "home base" is about $80 and each thermometer is l$13.

That would be good to monitor temps in a particular room (you can do a lot more with the system too)

I don't know what you mean when you say heater, but if you're talking about your whole home heat, you could also get a Nest thermostat (not cheap) which would monitor the temperature at the thermostat (not the individual room unless the thermostat is in that room) BUT would give you the ability to adjust or shut off the heat from your phone.

I see this system, but it's not what I was remembering... https://www.acurite.com/spot-check-i...ite-987es.html

There is actually a system that is marketed specifically for the herp market to send an alert is the tempos get to high or low.
