I really sholdn't have laughed but....

Okay yesterday my 2nd oldest daughter (the 11 year old) was handling our young snake Baby. They were just on the couch, she was lounging watching tv and Baby was doing her usual "use the kids belly as a nice heat source thing" when suddenly Baby lifted her tail and deposited a lovely urate on my daughter's tummy (thank goodness she was wearing a longer t-shirt LOL).

Well the kiddo was appalled (simply appalled!) and I just burst out laffing at her face and the "Mother get YOUR snake off me!!! I'm never wearing this shirt again!!!" I couldn't help it, she's such a pet lover but is in the girlie stage of life where nature's little "gifts" are just gross.

After we removed the now happily relieved Baby and smoothed the ruffled feathers of the pre-teen I did mention that having raised her and her 3 siblings, I've been peed on, pooped on, vomitted on, chewed on, and presented with boogers and I survived that, so she could survive one small snake and one small urate LOL.

She was unimpressed (it was probably the snickering and giggling going on from the rest of this unruly crew....but their time will come) LOL

Ah yes.. I know that stage well. I may not have kids, but I work with them. (I do birthday parties and school groups)

I've had 8' burmese pythons relieve themselves on me.

There is also a blue tongue skink we use for birthdays that pees on me every darn time. The kids just LOVE that.

Dang it, why did you make me read this. I have yet to be pooped on by any of my snakes, but everytime I read one of these I'm reminded of that fact and begin to think reading the post will be a curse and my time will come with the next handling! Dang you!!!

Oh and sorry for your daughter!

Bah, snake poo isn't that bad.

Course, my snakes make sure I stay used to it. My cali king delights in flinging her poo about 6' away, or smearing it all over my hands.

    Charming, isn't she?

Ahhh Joanna, you are a vast fount of stories and advice for new mothers. I can remember thinking "ick" about that sort of thing but got over it the minute I volunteered at a wildlife sanctuary where the fluids flew like rain..ahh the good ole days

I hope your daughter recovers and forgives you your inevitable humor fits!
