My ball python has eaten for the first few weeks since I've gotten him without issue, but recently I was going to try to transition him to rat pinkies. I have been feeding him mice hoppers every five days, which are about 7 grams each, but he is 100 grams, so these are definitely too small for him... but I tried feeding him an adult mouse today that was the same size as a rat pinkie to get him used to that size, so that I could transition to the pinkies soon. It was a a little thicker than the thickest part of his body (but massively bigger/wider than his head). He struck at it and constricted it, but then he kept probing it with his head and biting it and then letting go and probing it again, before eventually giving up and going inside his hide, leaving the mouse. I left it in there for 45 minutes but he didn't touch it, so I threw it away, thawed a hopper and put it in there, but he did the same thing - struck at it and then left it. I know it's not particularly alarming for a BP to not eat, sometimes even for weeks, as long as they are not losing weight or malnourished, so I'm not particularly worried. I'm more just asking for advice or suggestions on how to proceed.
