One thing I lOVE about this site...

Is that you can have nice, big avatars. I am on several other sites that let you have this puny, inch by inch avatar. You can't be that creative with a tiny thing like that, but THIS place lets you be! I'm Luvin' it..

Re: One thing I lOVE about this site...

I was on one recently that upgraded to the same forum/portal software (vbulletin/vbportal = gettign verry popular) and they had made the maximum avatar size 60x60 pixels.

I agree - that's kind of stepping on you a little bit - especially considering it used to be 100x100.

Some sites don't even let you HAVE ANY avatar until you have been around three months

(none of the above i was referring to were herp sites btw)

Big avatar is not always good.

You have to think about the one connecting. When someone have a 56k (still some do) it's slow to load all the images and even more when they are images in the "signature"

56k; yes, I still do, but the size of the avatar doesn't matter. I would love to use my own avatar, but my camera phone format does not allow for an avatar due to the size of the photos.....and if someone can show me how to reduce the size, I would appreciate it!

If that is the case you can go into UserCP (control Panel) and under EDIT OPTIONS there is a checkbox there so you can disable the avatars for showing if you are on a limited connection or just want the thread formats to look a little tighter.
