Yes it has. I'm giving the retic more time to settle since he had a long trip and is in shed. I'm going to attempt to feed him a small rat today and again leave him alone for another 3-4 days before I attempt to handle him. The boa seems a lot more relaxed. Much like my ball python.

Don't worry about that too much. The species is A LOT more active than almost every other type of boa or python. Retics will give some colubrids a run for the money.

I fed my guy in shed and he took it no problem. A very experienced retic friend of mine said he thought it helped loosen their skin a bit and that he has never had an issue feeding in shed. Usually I wait but these guys seem OK and I have fed others in shed without incident. I just prefer to wait.

Your boa and almost everything else is going to be a little more relaxed than the retic. Still, get some hands on relatively soon as I think it is good practice. I handle mine after he's had 24 hours of digestion. Just short periods , but still worth doing. I always use my hook and probably always will.

I use it on my boa too. He ISN"T as reactive and I'm inclined to believe he is less likely to broadcast his feelings to me ahead of time. Don't get me wrong, he is a great handler and very docile, I just feel if I wanted to yank him out and he didn't want to come out of the cage, I'd get little warning before he bit.

I always like to error on the side of caution and expect ALL of them to bite at some point.

Anyhow, your boa is really neat. The motley pattern really emphasizes the "loaf" shape!!
