    2016 NARBC Hypo Hog

    Hey guys!

I attended the Tinley Park NARBC for the second time Saturday. About 2 hours in I saw a guy handling this gorgeous hypo hog island boa at the Shawnee Reptiles booth. As soon as he handed her over to me I was in instant love, and the wallet came out.

She is stunning, these photos do her no justice. She has tons of bright orange and pink sides. Also, she is an absolute puppy. So happy I brought her home with me!

Awesome pickup. Sometimes I think they rig sales by letting people hold animals, especially when they have such nice coloring.

Yep, very first! I have wanted a boa for a long time, and at first wanted a sunglow. After seeing a hog island for the first time though I knew that was the one I would eventually get.

I only saw 3 other hog islands at the show. Two were yearling 75% hog males, the other one was a nice female hog which sold before the show even started. None looked as stunning as this girl though. Are hog islands not so easy to come by?

True locality Hogg Islands aren't all that common, and they can come at a premium. A lot of the Hoggs you see are hybrids.

I agree, that is a sales tactic they use. I saw a retic guy that was basically throwing snakes at people. Just to clarify though, they weren't using her as a lure to get people over like that. When I walked up a guy was holding her and was inquiring about her (I was standing there almost biting my finger nails hoping he wasn't going to buy her). Then I snagged her as soon as he was about to give her back lol.
