Long story short, I bought 4 Ball Pythons from a breeder. They all looked very healthy. Did full body checks, ect.
They are quarantined in a separate room. Turns out, once I got home he started telling me all these things about them...
Basically he hasnt fed them in almost 2 months. He "didnt" have enough rats. OMG! He also hasnt handled them in about a month or so. It gets worse. ALL four have RIs. All are being medicated. Its the very beginning of the infection, very few bubbles in the mouth. All are on antibiotics, second dose was yesterday (so its been 5 days since they started it) the younger two have eaten twice with me, ive almost had them 2 weeks. One adult female has eaten once, and one hasnt eaten yet. She took a major interest in the rat, but it was after her shot. Will try again in a few days..
This "breeder" has been known to do this. Hes got a HORRIBLE reputation. I had no idea who he was when I bought the snakes.. Im so irritated. Im just glad I got them out of the situation and am getting them better!
The main point of this...
My one adult female who ate (3 days ago) had a brown/green SOLID poo with a black little sliver of goo in it, its not a worm? She also let loose green liquid urate and white solid..? Is that normal?
Ive looked up a great deal on it and its pretty common in snakes that are just getting back on food. I didnt know if I should be concerned about it?
Theyve been checked out, ect ect. From what I was told theyre perfectly healthy besides the on start of RI.
My temps are 89-90 on the hot side, 78-80 or so on the cool. With 65% or so Humidity.
I will take her back to the vet if need be, but I wanted to see opinions here. I already cleaned it all up or I would have taken it for a culture. Next poo from any of them- especially her I will take to get tested.. The others have pooed, all normal.
Thanks yall!
