    First feed coming up...

    Hi all,
We got our first BP on Monday, and we plan to feed her Saturday. I have a few questions about feeding, though. First up, is it fine to just wrap a f/t rat in kitchen roll and leave it out to defrost? We plan to put it in a sandwich box (we have cats) and then feed it to Wanda once it's defrosted. I understand now that you need to warm prey as well, and I think the ziplock bag and warm water method would be easiest for us, but how long do you leave it in there for? And also, we have tweezers to feed her, but how important is it that the snake does not see the hand whilst feeding? I don't want her to associate hands with food.

Thank you all for your answers! And sorry if these are really simple questions, I'm like a new mother

How long you leave it in the water depends on how big a rat, but usually just a few mins if it's already room temp. Use a long set of tongs to keep your hands from becoming 'prey'
