Dwarf Male Retic Enclosure question

I've had Gene for a 6 months so far and my little man in doing amazing! He currently has a very comfortable 41qt tub (rack) that he is very comfortable in. With Tinley around the corner I was thinking about ordering his forever home and picking it up there. Gene (male) is 25%SD & 25%Jamp, do you think an Animal Plastic T8 will be large enough? Dad was around 7' and mom was around 9' from what i was told..
Thanks,
Steve

I don't have a retic but just judging by the size vs cage size, I would at the least opt for a T10 with a shelf. That way if the snake stays around 7', you should be fine as the shelf will add floor space. Now if he gets larger, you probably will need to upsize his cage. Good thing is even if he does outgrow the cage, you shouldn't have a problem reselling it or just using it for another snake. With all that said, if you are worried and don't want to have to replace the cage, then I would say do a T25 with a shelf. That should house him fine assuming he doesn't turn into a monster lol.

I have an albino female 50% Jampea retic. She is about seven feet long now, just a pup LOL. I have her in an ARS-8018 series tub, probably can keep her in there for at least another 6 months to a year or so before she gets too cramped. I'm actually thinking about a tub instead of a side sliding door. Not sure if you have ever seen many people feed from a sliding door or not, but it can get pretty scary if they have a huge feeding response, they can come out of that side door pretty quick. In a tub enclosure at least they have to come up and exert a little more effort, and it's easier to get them to go back down instead of back in the side door. I have an ARS rack and I'm thinking of getting one or two levels with single tubs like the ARS-9006 below. I'm thinking that if I had two levels I could move her from a dirty level to a clean level instead of moving out and then back in. I've seen really large retics getting moved out of their tub, not too bad, but then moving them back in after they have been out can be a bit tricky. Easier to move just once, especially if they happen to be in a bad mood and in a dirty cage. And if you ever plan to breed I've seen even smaller retics on a clutch of eggs get pretty mean and going in from the side is super scary to me. I'd rather have a tub and go in from the top.

Re: Dwarf Male Retic Enclosure question
I recently built an enclosure for a Dwarf Retic. The keeper decided on a 72x24x20 cage for his boy. I don't have any experience with them so I relied upon him, but he's happy with his enclosure. I'd look into something in that size.
