Recently I've seen some champagne HET pied animals for sale that are at least 50% white and visually look like pieds. They are listed as het pieds. How the heck does this work?
Re: Question about animals that look pied but aren't
Some morphs, and especially those that are heavy pixel augmentation morphs like Champagne, can have that kind of interaction with the Pied gene - even in its heterozygous form. They tend to throw crazy Pied-like ringers that can look an awful lot like actual Pieds, when in actuality they are only hets. For more detailed info, do a search of some of Dave Green's posts - he's posted a bunch on this very topic as he has worked with this exact thing quite a bit.
