Hello! New poster and somewhat new BP owner. We've had our snake for a couple months.
Im sure you all see these questions all the time, but bear with me. Our snake has been displaying some disconcerting behavior for the last couple days. I've been doing searches on every symptom he's displayed and I'm not sure if I should be really worried about an infection, or if it's all normal shedding behavior. We saw his eyes blue I think sometime last week, (might have been longer than that, I can't remember what day) but we doubted ourselves when they cleared up (I've since learned that that's normal). But he still hasn't shed, and he won't eat. This is his first shed (with us).
He's been sitting with his head upwards, and making strange movements. The most worrisome is that he would open his mouth for a few moments, but I'm hesitant to say he's only breathing through his mouth because it's not constant. When he opened up wider I don't think I saw any bubbles anywhere. Actually, he was only doing that when I was holding him. There were some popping sounds as well, but no whistling or wheezing. Now he's just laying in the middle of his tank....just sort of laying there. Not moving at all, not curled up. Head tilted upwards, but not vertical.
His skin is saggy and seems wrinkled.
Temperatures are are normal on both sides of the tank, and humidity is at least 65%
Ive requested a vet appointment, but it's Sunday, so I won't hear back from them until tomorrow at the earliest.
