New ball ate its first rat!
I just recently got my first ball python a few days ago (shes 2 years old already) and I tried feeding her tonight and after waving it in front of her for about 30 seconds she struck at it and is swallowing it as I type this, Im glad shes getting comfortable in her new enviroment.

definitely, ive really wanted to handle her but i wanted her to get used to her new cage and take her first meal before i try handling her at all, so now i will just wait two days and give it a shot

I just got a new ball python too, it's a 2012 spider pied male, so 4 years old and about 1000 grams, kind of small for his age but plenty big to breed. He just ate his first rat tonight as well, I tried frozen thawed and I think it resulted in an aggression strike. Then tried a live rat pup and he missed a few times, banged his head into the side of the tub LOL. Then finally got it! Most of my snakes won't take frozen thawed, but will take a rat pup which I usually follow up with another frozen thawed and they usually always take the F/T after the live, kind of a neat trick.

awesome! mine is a pastel orange ghost that i got from a breeder who said she has been on frozen thawed since day one so she seems to be fine with them so i will stick with that
