    belly scales "flaking" up

It's hard to describe, but my boys scales before the elongated stomach scales tend to "catch" or "flake up". Like if you run your hand along his underside, you can feel the scales lift a bit. Os this normal? I've never felt that on other snakes. My ex girlfriend got a snake from the same place and his did it as well but stopped after a few sheds. Is it okay? Hers ended up with scale rot, I don't want my boy to end up like that.

I've noticed my girls belly area scales do that sometimes. It's more like if you accidentally rub them the wrong way. We've had her for 2 months and she's happy and healthy. I've wondered if this was normal, but I guess it is...

    Re: belly scales "flaking" up

    Hi,

I find I am more likely to feel this as they are coming up to a shed.
