Check out what I just caught....

This just made my day. I just caught this little guy on my doorstep. I had to bring the little one inside and take a few pictures so here you go:

He had some old wounds as you can somewhat see in the pic...but thats what happens when you live in the wild.

I forget how fast other snakes are....because he took off when I let him go

I have seen one rattlesnake in the wild. If I can ever catch a coachwhip without getting tagged....then I might attempt to catch something poisonous.....''might''... ha ha...probably not

Re: Check out what I just caught....

I keep trying to figure out if it is an eastern or western ribbon snake. I am leaning toward eastern....ha ha...I had to get out my snake book to try and tell the difference

EDIT: (Western Ribbon Snake) "Unlike the eastern ribbon snake the pale parietal spot on top of the head is distinct, and there is no brown coloration on the outer edges of the ventral plates." -LDWF website
ha ha.... maybe I was wrong...

What a great find Daniel. I love that last shot, run outside and take more photos. I have been photo crazy, my poor husband can't even take ten steps on our hike before I start shooting again. He keeps saying that people won't enjoy shots of leaves and bark as much as I do..lol

I have been picture crazy too. Mainly because I have to take about 20 pictures just to get one good picture and I keep finding cool stuff to take pictures of. Ha ha.... I am kinda nervous after finding that little ribbon snake on the doorstep....only god knows what else might show up on the doorstep now

I think it just has to be your photograph.

Nice find! I am DYING to go herping! I'm probably gonna go in a few days, I hope I find something good.
