Just got a baby ball python but need help due to her weight

Hey guys my boyfriend and I just got a female baby super pastel and we were told she was 80g and was 3 months old and on large adult mice. I want to know what would be best to feed her etc we will be getting a scale soon.

Feed her adult mice 3 times to make sure she starts eating with you. Then switch her to rat pups. Rat pups will be good till she reaches 200g.

Feed what she was offered until a couple hundred grams, then when there is weight try to switch to rats.
Though you don't have to switch if mice are easier for you to find but keep in mind that when she gets larger you will have to feed multiple mice.

I know I don't trust rats though so I'm aware of that. She was also being fed large adult mice but I feel those are too big for her.

I don't trust rats either...which is why I feed them to my snakes. As was said, get the husbandry right and feed her large adult mice for a little while until she is eating consistently and is happy with her environment (usually indicated by her spending all her time in a hide). Then you should switch to rats unless you want to feed multiple mice when she gets bigger. It's much easier to feed a single rat to an adult BP in the long run.

Feed a rodent as big a round as the biggest part of your snake. Also make sure your husbandry is good and no handling until she has ate consistently. Also I would feed whatever she was eating before you bought her but the appropriate size. If she was eating live mice or rats then feed live mice or rats, if she was eating f/t mice or rats then feed f/t mice or rats. If she was eating live before then wait till she is eating consistently them try to switch to f/t. Rats will be much easier to feed when she is bigger so you don't need to offer more than one rodent, if you have to switch from mice to rats then when you switch to f/t (if you have to) then once she is eating f/t mice wait until she eats consistently then try to switch to f/t rats. If she does refuse a meal make sure you don't try again the next day, wait 5-7 days and then try again or you will stress her out.

Also if and when you feed f/t make sure you thaw the rodent properly. I thaw mine by putting hot tap water in a tub and putting rodent in leak proof bag and checking every 5 mins for frozen/cold spots then after it is thawed I hold the rodent with tongs and heat the head of the rodent (blow dryer works good) while blowing the smell of the rodent into the snakes cage, this usually makes them come right out for their meal. I heat the rodent head up around 105 degrees, you can use a ir temp gun or 1-2 minutes with a blow dryer will work. You can heat the body a little with the blow dryer but main focus should be head so the snake can see the heat and also have a point of aim. There's other methods to thaw rodents but this one has worked for me with great success including switching from live to f/t and from f/t mice to f/t rats.

Also hear is the care sheet, read over it and make any changes. Make sure you are taking temps correctly and have a way to regulate your heating device like a thermostat. Ask lots of questions and take the advice given.
