Chlorhexidine Solution Shelf Life

I had mixed up a gallon of Chlorhexidine solution about a month or so ago and still have about 3/4 of the gallon left. Since I really dont use alot of the stuff, I was wondering if chlorhexidine has a certain shelf life once it is mixed. I would hate be cleaning but 'not really cleaning' if the solution is no longer good. Just a random question I came up with while cleaning some enclosures today

I'm pretty sure it is ok for quite awhile. We use it when doing dentals and whatnot to prevent infection, but we do alot of dentals... I would think that it is still ok to use.

I figured it would not go bad in a months time....but I wanted to know just how long before it looses its effectiveness. Thanks becky
