    Natsu's progression thread

So I decided to name my Blood Python Natsu! He has come a long way since I got him Thursday night! When my husband brought him home and I put him in his new enclosure he bit me and peed on me and was really huffy. I checked on him on Friday and he didn't seem happy so I went out and decided to try a different cage setup, so I bought a 60 quart under bed container and set it up for him and put him in it. Saturday I checked on him and he didn't huff at me so progress! He then ate an adult mouse! So I left him alone just peaked in on him occasionally and then decided to try to hold him today. I got him out and he was a sweetheart! He never huffed, struck, bit, or peed on me today! I think that is a lot of progress for him! Here's some pics I took while holding him this morning: ( I need to weigh him tomorrow)

Nice pickup, progression threads are a good idea, they grow and change so much the first few years. All of mine are/were nervous and huffy at that age but settle down over time.

Thanks! I notice there are some days I'll get him out and have no problem but then there are some days I do the same thing (go in with the hook and touch him to let him know I'm going to pick him up) and I'll get bit and peed on lol. He's very interesting and definitely different than my ball pythons or any other snake I have ever owned! I still try to get him out each day and depending on how he's acting I'll keep him out for a while or if he seems like he's really nervous I'll let him go back in his hide after a few minutes. I have a friend that has a big female that is a sweetheart (she talks but that's it).
