So I finally got my rack all set up and insulated, it holds heat very well. I have four babies living in six quart tubs on three inch flexwatt for belly heat. I was having some difficulty with tub ambient temps being usually around 75 so I upped the temp in my whole room to about 79-80 and now im getting 80 deg ambient temps inside the tub.
When I temp gun the actual surface of the tub that rest on the heat tape I get a reading of anywhere from 90-95.
I have since added about an inch of substrate and the snakes.
When I temp gun the snake, after living in the tub for a day, I get a reading around 85 deg. Is this ok? Do I need to move the substrate a little to get them on that 90 deg tub surface? Im guessing the snake will do it on its own.
What temp should the BP be at when I temp gun the actual snake? Does it sound like things are good?
Thanks in advance for the help.
