New larger hides, are my tubs too small/cramped now?

I have just upgraded my 400g + males to medium Reptile Basics hides in 15 qt tubs, and my 1200g + females to large Reptile Basics hides in 32 qt tubs. This has caused me to only be able to fit 1 hide in each tub rather than 2, I put the hides on the hot spot, are my tubs too small/tight now?

Nope that's fine. I'd rotate the hides 90 degrees but that's just me

Honestly the bigger females don't even need hides in a tub that small (unless they're problem feeders.)

It depends on who you ask. I have been worried about a similar issue and making sure my ball pythons have quality of living as well as a proper set up. Some say if you cannot fit two hides hot and cool side) then yes it is too small. Also my 600g female is still using medium hides. As long as they can get in it they are happy. So unless your ball pythons really do not fit in the smaller hides anymore, maybe two smaller is better than one large?

Once they reach 6-700g I don't use hides and I only use cb70 tubs. The back of my rack is dark enough they just curl up there. They eat and shed fine so I just leave them be.

Most of mine have also lost their hides by that size. I do have a couple however that will refuse to eat unless they have their security blanket. Once the girls are at breeding size though they no longer seem to need the hides at all.
