Exclamation New Born Ball Pythons HAVE NOT ATE YET!!!HELP ......................... how long ?

I hatched out a clutch ( my first clutch ) that came out the eggs on around July 4th. its been roughly 24 days since they have came out of the egg.

they have not wanted to eat yet. when i offer then food ( about once a week ) they just attack it. im attempting live rat pinks.

how long do i have before i should be concerned...

    another thing.
When all other snakes came out the eggs... i had one that did not want to come out the egg. it was much smaller all together smaller head etc, it also took longer shedding its first shed, it also was going backwards alot when it was moving. well it died yesterday, i had proper husbandry etc....
....... thats why im so concerned for the other snakes. stressing me out now

How do you keep them, what have you been offering and how often?

24 days is nothing, they shed 10 days after hatching and usually you feed them their first meal 2 to 4 days after that so you are really not that behind.

Sometimes it take 4 to 6 weeks before they eat, the important is to know when to intervene and what need to be adjusted if there is the need to do so and for that you need to provide a little more details.

Feed at dusk and leave rat fuzzies in with snake overnight. Remove water bowl or they may kill it in the water then not eat it because it is underwater. Check in morning and remove uneaten feeder. (Disclaimer: Only safe to leave rodents with eyes closed in with snakes)

I've had better luck starting them on live mouse hoppers, and after 3-4 meals convert to live rat fuzzies or pups depending on the snake's size, and then to frozen/thaw a few weeks later.

I start all my hatchlings on rat pups, never had a starvation issue. A hopper mouse can not be left in overnight, a rat pup can.
