    Ball python shed and feed

My ball python that ive had for about 5 weeks and he has not shed yet, should i be worried?. Also when i fed him today he took at least 5 strikes to hit the mouse(i feed him frozen thawed). Is this due to the fact he should be shedding soon? Thanks

Ball pythons shed at different rates depending on their age/size. My big adult female only sheds once every 10 weeks or so. I wouldn't worry about it as long as he's eating. If he eats and grows, he will shed.

Him missing could be because of the mouse being not warm enough - if you're feeding it at room temperature, try blasting it with a hair dryer for a few seconds right before offering. The snakes heat pits sense body heat and tell him where to aim.

I agree with what Dez said. Don't worry about the shedding. The snake will do it when it's ready. When you see the skin looking really dull or whitish, or a hazy or blue looking eyes, bump up the humidity until the snake sheds. It may take 3-14 days, depending on when you first see the signs of it going into shed.

How are you feeding? With tongs? If it's still a young snake, it may just be a slow learner. LOL. Don't worry. Do as Dez suggested and make sure it's nice and warm when you present it.
