    Is this Normal?

I adopted a BP about a month ago from someone who was moving to a place that didn't allow snakes. He just had his first shed and bowel movement tonight, but now he is very restless!

I cleaned out his tank, but he keeps making laps and nosing the top of his tank like he is trying to get out. I've never seen him acting to restless! Is this normal? Is he looking for something?

I have him fresh water when I cleaned his tank, so he had plenty of water. He has two hides, his temps and humidity are all good No idea what he might need! Please help me!!

My Fiance asked: When is the last time he was fed? He also said that the BP could just be wanting to be out and active. But since he just shed and pooped, he's most likely hungry.

They do that from time to time. Usually after a good poop, shed, or after moving to a new place. Cleaning his cage might've thrown him off too. If something smells different they have to go out and investigate!

Or like Krisss89 said, he could just be hungry. My BPs get more active after they've finished digesting their last meal. They roam around the tank/tubs a lot at that time. Could be hunting behavior.

    Re: Is this Normal?

By clean, I just cleared out the skin and droppings. I had him out for about 45 minutes after his shed because he was so restless, but I never keep him out for more than an hour to avoid stressing him. He might be hungry, I feed him one f/t adult mouse every Saturday, but I'm thinking he might need to be moved up to f/t weaned rats soon- unfortunately my local pet stores do not carry those.

It's been three hours and he is still going! Even when I've seen him roam when hungry, he never was active for this long!!

I got mine Tuesday and he's been super active. He's finally calming down but he hasn't shown any signs of being stressed so I've been letting him play in and out of his enclosure as much as he wants. He's a happy noodle.

Fiance says: If you can't get the weaned rats, you might just have to give multiple mice.

Thanks guys! Glad to know it just means he's hungry and not that he's stressed out in his environment! <3
