Pro Products vs Reptile Basics RHP

I've seen some posts on this, but have yet to hear any specific reasoning why people like one over the other. I'm looking at 80W RHP from these two suppliers and would like help selecting. I have two T8 enclosures on order, so I will be purchasing two RHPs. They will be run on a Herpstat 2 and I think I will not need any other heat source. If anyone can provide some good reasoning why you think one is better than the other, please do.

I have always used Reptile Basics rhps and think they are awesome. I have one 80 watt rhp in each of my t8s and temps are perfect.

No experience with the other brand but you can't go wrong with Reptile Basics.

Sorry - I'm going to pepper you with questions:

Do you have any other heat sources in the enclosure?
What are the temps in your room?
What are your warm side/cool side temps?
    What substrate do you use?
Do you have the RHP centered or is it biased to a certain side?
    Any issues mounting?

    Thanks!

I always heard the old reptile basic rhp had something that the snake could grab onto and hang out on it if it was determined, which a rhp is not a good thing for the snake to hang out on. I know they don't have that issue now, if the rumor was true in the first place. But that is where some bias could come from.

I think pro products looks better visually but I believe they both work fine as far as heating goes. Personally I use pro products in my carpet python cages. No issues

I have a T8 setup with 2 40w RHP's (because I used the divider in the T8). I have only used Reptile Basics' RHP, but I will answer your questions as well...

Do you have any other heat sources in the enclosure? Yes, I also have 12" heat tape from RB on the bottom, but I have my thermostat for it set low and it only runs if the house gets very cold.
What are the temps in your room? Winter - 65F-72F Summer - 68F-78F

What are your warm side/cool side temps? Warm side: surface=90F, Ambient= upper 80's. Cool side: Surface 82F, Ambient=77-80F

What substrate do you use? kraft indented paper

Do you have the RHP centered or is it biased to a certain side? Off-center to favor the warm side. They create enough heat that doing this assists in giving you a warm side/cool side gradient.

Any issues mounting? Nope. You can pre-drill if you want, or if using a coarse thread, like a drywall screw, no need to pre-drill. If you use the enclosed screws, you're fine. If you use your own screws, just make sure they are not long enough to go all the way through the mounting surface.

Re: Pro Products vs Reptile Basics RHP

We use the Reptile Basics RHPs because we found them first, and have had no issues with RB products or service in general.

AFAIK both brands are equally good.

I have the Pro Products 80 watt. It works just fine. I went with it because they ship a lot to AP and were recommended by AP as well. It just made sense to go that route.
