Blue eyed Lucy has turned pink

My blue eyed Lucy has turned completely pink. I know of course that a ball python's belly will turn pink around the time of shedding. I'm thinking perhaps a bel will turn more pink because it doesn't have pigment to mask it. He finished shedding several days ago, and is still covered heavily with a splotchy pink coloration, and I have never known him to transform in color so profoundly. Could it have something to do with age? He is close to two years old. Have I got anything to worry about? Thanks in advance...
I should also add, his eyes have greyed over, moreso than I have seen before when he's shed, and again it is several days after his last shed.

When he shed, did the scales over his eyes come off with the skin?

My pied gets pink blotches on his white portions from coiling up in his hide and pressing against the inside walls. They go away once he's out and about.

Thanks for that question. I'm not certain whether the scales over his eyes came off. I've never attempted to observe that. He did have a very clean shed, in one piece. If the eye scales haven't come off, how do I correct that? From googling I've read that one may apply a dab of mineral oil. Might this work, or have you any other suggestions?

If the pink is from his hide, I have never noticed it before. He is resting atop his hide. And again, nor have I seen his eyes so grey. Perhaps it's because they should have been shed for awhile now? If this is not due to an incomplete shed, could it be something I should be concerned about, to the point I should see a vet? He does seem a bit sluggish, though perhaps he's disconcerted from the old unshed scales on his eyes. Thanks again

You should always check the shed to make sure the eye caps came off, although if it came off in one solid piece there is a good chance they did.

Pictures would help.

What Piedlover said - I always check for two specific things on sheds, the eye caps, and the tail tip, to make sure that both came off even if the shed looks complete and whole. Photos would help, but I'm afraid that was my only suggestion - more experienced BPers can give you more insight with photos.

I have had my bels show pink before and after shed and it should go away. Not splotchy though, and no cloudy eyes after the shed. And yes, now that i think about it, I see more of the pink as they get older.

Don't try and get the eye caps off just in case they have already come off so just wait until he sheds next and get that humidity up high to ensure a complete shed. Check the shed for the eye caps when he sheds next.
If they are on they won't do any harm left on until the next shed.
After seeing the post on here about the person who removed the new eye caps thinking they where the old one I will never attempt to do it again, just make sure the humidity is up.
As for the pink, is your heat source guarded ?

Thanks all. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. With respect to waiting for the next shed, should I not attempt to feed him until then, once his eyes clear up? Humidity is at about 70% in my area at the moment. Does a guarded heat source refer to guarding a ceramic element or bulb? I use an under tank heat pad with a thermostat

Feed as normal. All my bps feed as normal throughout the shed cycle but as always every snake is different so you just have to try and see if he takes it.
Ye mostly I was on about a CHE guard but as long as your heat mat is on a thermostat then nothing to worrie about
