    Record Keeping

Just wanted to recommend a program we've been trying out.

    http://www.eyehit.com/degei/

We are using the free trial copy for now. The full version is only $20.00. It's a nice little program. Very clean and easy to run for us with only the one snake at this point. I looked at a few other record keeping programs but some seemed way too complicated for a simple snake owners like us LOL.

If anyone else knows of other simple record keeping programs to recommend please do as I'd like to check out a few before we buy a registered copy.

    Thanks,

Seems like pretty neat little program. Up to this point, I've just been logging information into an Excel spreadsheet. I'll have to download that software on my PC at home and try it out. Thanks.

    Re: Record Keeping

ha ha..... I have some Excel spreadsheets that I use, I keep them in a notebook.....There is not really that much information too record that would require a program. PM me and I will email you my spreadsheet layout(it is not too fancy but it works). All you have to do is print out a few copies and put them in a notebook. I hate having to go look at a computer screen to get information. Just keep the notebook by the snakes and presto....instant access.

    Re: Record Keeping

I was gung-ho for that program a while back but could not get them to support or help set up having it on a central database so records could be updated from different computers

Might have to peek and see if they have added that functionality.

    Re: Record Keeping

I do it the old fashioned way. Whenever one of my snakes feeds, I mark it on a calendar reserved for this purpose. I periodically weigh them and mark that down too. Everyone should keep some sort of records on their snakes!

    Re: Record Keeping

I'd have to be busy half the day beating on Mike and the kids to leave off scribbling notes on the back of my snake index cards.....and in this house...find a pen! not likely! they are either all lost or put up high so the 4 year old can't create anymore wall art (not much help as I'm only 5'1" and can't reach where Mike put the dang pens!!!! ) LOL

Put it this way...if there's ever a fire...after Mike, the kids and the pets are out...me and the computer, the eraseable white board and my cell phone with it's handy dandy calendar feature are next to go....the rest I can live without! *knock wood*

OOOH! I have that Degei program. It's pretty neat. I'm always typing stuff in it. The trial version serves my purpose since I won't ever use all of the features anyway.

Are you sure you are talking about my program? I don't think you are. Degei has always supported a client/server setup. Even when it was HerpHelper. Maybe there was some other issue? I do request a $7 per additional pc fee if you are running the full version, but as far as I know, you can do it on the trial version at no cost.
