How many grams should a 700 gram ball python be eating each week
i feed all my 700 gram bp's around 90-95 grams each week but lately people have been saying that's no enough rodent weight for them that they need more. how much should i be feeding rodent weight to snake weight.

that's a good size for a 700 gram BP. it's the low end of medium rats. if anything it's towards the high end of prey size for this snake..

A small rat once a week is more than enough.

That is more for hatchlings than adults. Many of us have fat unhealthy snakes because we eel the need to overfeed them.

So you wood feed a 4000 grams BP a 400 grams rats?
The main issue is that BP are over fed in captivity, because they can take down a large prey does not mean they need it to thrive and grow.
To have a BP feeding with consistency feed smaller prey.
A 700 grams BP does not need anything larger than a 55 grams rats.
As adult even the largest females do not require anything larger than 150 grams rats while males do not require anything larger than a 75 grams rat.

My male is also 700 grams and I feed small rats between 50 and 70 grams every 10 to 14 days. He refuses if I try and feed every 7 days.
No cage is too large - nature is the best template - a snoot can't be booped too much

Damn, i have miss read then, i have been shooting for the 10% with mine the 3 weeks i have had him.. if i feed smaller then that he comes out looking for "something"... like he is still hungry so i thought it was good advice.
But i have also heard about the feeding close to the girth of the snake, is that god advice or no?

Up until they are about 500 grams yes after that their metabolism starts to slow down and food intake need to be adjusted for a more consistent feeding.
