    Sterilte Bin Escape?

    Hey guys,

I've posted earlier that I'm somewhat between cages and looking for something more secure. My interim cage is a Sterilite bin with clasps on the side. Looks like this but shallower:
Tonight, I noticed he was able to push up the lid maybe about a centimeter from its resting position. I don't think he can escape, but I'm worried about possible injury from his shenanigans. Anyone else have this happen/how to make the tank more secure?

Possibly drill two or three holes along each long edges, and use a bolt and wingnut through each hole to lock the lid down. But then you have to undo them all to get into it. Experience using tubs like that for storage inclines me to suggest against a weight on top.

You can use straps or bungie cords to keep the lid in place.

I used to drill and use "S" hooks to hold mine down

Hefty makes bins with locking lids. You can get them at target. I have never had a big female able to move one of those lids.

    Re: Sterilte Bin Escape?

The Hefty locking lid tubs are awesome. The lids are sturdy and thick so they don't flex easily.

For the OP, I would get a luggage strap, and wrap it around the middle of the tub, they're like $7 at Target or WalMart. Most have a quick-release buckle so once they're adjusted you can put them on and take them off in seconds.
