first clutch questions!

So my female laid 6 eggs last Sunday. Am I supposed to check the eggs or just leave them alone in the incubator.(I made it out of a small wine cooler) the temp is consistently 90 degrees. Not sure if it has to be 89 or not? And if I am supposed to take them out occasionally, for how long? Also, the humidity is at 99% all the time. How will I know if the eggs are going bad or not. They look the same so far. She laid 6 normal looking eggs and I candles them and they all have veins. Thanks anyone who replies!

Monitor temps and humidity at all times.

90 is OK but doesn't leave you much wiggle room. I incubate at 88 and the temps will fluctuate between 88 and 89. Depends on your setup.

For the most part leave them alone. I candle once a week but this in not necessary. You will know when one starts to go bad.

Make sure you have the tops of the eggs marked. If you handle them you need to know what end goes up.

At day 50 I check the eggs every day until they pip.

First one pips, I cut and put the eggs on damp paper towels and then back in the incubator until they are all out of the eggs.

Resist the temptation to open the incubator too often. It can take it time to get back up to temp and for the humidity level to stabilize.

Ok! Thanks so much for the reply! I'm afraid to bring the thermostat down one if it'll make it too cool. Not sure. When they hatch, does it still need to remain high humidity? And the eggs are stuck together so I won't have to move them apart unless one goes bad.

Mark them anyway. The clutch can break apart as it gets close to hatching time. I am of the opinion that a little cool is better than a little hot but if your incubator is super stable it is a non-issue.
