    anyone experienced this?

I've had my bp since early January 05 and haven't hac any problems with him. His sheds have been good, and he has eaten every time I've offered him. Saturday night he shed and left his old skin inside the hide on the warm side of his cage. Since then, I cleaned the cage and sterilized his hides. He is now refusing to stay in the warm hide and this isn't really that big a deal I dont guess but its just odd because he would hardly ever leave the warm hide before and he's been avoiding it for the past two days. Has this ever happened to anyone else before?

Our snakes go through times if hide preference. I never worry about it. If your husbandry is good it makes no difference. The true 'expert' on where to thermoregulate is the snake itself. Check your temps, if they're correct don't worry. If they're off, fix them. That's all there is to it.

    Cheers!

I have had my male bp for 3 and a half years... I have experiecned behavior like this when i clean his cage at times but after a while he will got back the area that has been cleaned.. I believe that its becasue the hide doesnt smell like him anymore and it just takes some time for the clean smell to wear off the hides and then the snake will go back into the hide...
The hotter the fire the stronger the steel...
