    Your First BP Breeding Match/Project?

It's coming up on three years since I've owned snakes and I've been growingly intrigued with breeding and genetics, especially in BPs. I'm thinking of getting into the game myself and have been flip-flopping between BP match ideas. For the breeders out there, what was your first project? Any recommendations for a newbie to breeding?

First was Het Albino X Het Albino.
I personally like working with recessives because not everyone wants to put in the work.

I've been looking at the hets! There's a 1.0 normal double het ghost and clown I've been looking at. If I get ambitious I may pick it up and keep an eye out for a female that could give a chance produce a Desert Ghost Clown! What a beauty that would be.

I bred Spider X Normal, Pastel x Pastel, and Pastel x Normal. Of course this was back when spiders were $900.00 for a male and Super pastels were $2500.00 lol

My suggestion is find a combo or a morph you love and go for that. Me I'm silly for enchi and pied stuff

Remember DH Ghost Clown and DH Desert Ghost Clown are not the same.

Ghost and Desert Ghost are 2 different mutation.

If you shoot for a Ghost Clown you need to pair 2 DH Ghost Clown together.

My First pairing was in 2011 and it was a pastel yb X normal. I got 12 eggs and zero normals hatched out. I was hooked. I'm now doing a lot of Pied, YB, Ghost, Albinos and starting a Clown group now. Do as much research and question asking on this forum, youtube, talk to breeders at shows etc to learn before breeding. Plan ahead with enclosures, incubators, misc supplies. I would suggest that if you're starting with babies or younger snakes. Get females first especially if you're dealing with recessives. Keep really good records of your pairings too. they take a bit more time to grow before being sexually mature.
