Hi I am new on here as some of you know my Kenyan Sand Boa male he is a year and two months old my question is can he start eating a fuzzy? he is a foot and 3 inches long I hope to get my cam fix so I can take pictures of him soon. When I got him from petsmart they still was feeding him one pinky mouse he ate 2 pinkie mice for me with out any issues at all! I think he is not getting enough food. Any help at all would be awesome!

    Thanks.

I don't have a Kenyan. I do have a rosy - although that hardly makes me qualified to answer definitively.

The general rule is that the prey should be about as big around or tad large than the widest point of your snake. My rosy is a bit bigger than that, and on fuzzys. She should probably move up a step. She is now bigger around than they are.

Just give it a try, if the sizing looks OK - I expect it will be fine. Not that much nourishment in pinkies.

I have no experience with Sand Boas which is why I don't feel comfortable answering your question. But I am interested in hearing from voices of experience. Maybe others feel the same way. And I have considered getting a SB for a while now.

Also there doesn't appear to be many owners of SB on this forum. Judging from past threads.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

I have a sand boa though she is larger, maybe two feet, I have fed her fuzzys, I have even fed f.t small mice. I think as long as he is as wide or wider then the fuzzy he will be fine.

Re: What Is The Next Size up?

Given that length (compared to my two smaller male SBs) and that he can eat two pinkies he can probably take a fuzzy. Try it and see.
