Pet store morph

Not sure what morph this is. Neither did the store selling it. Wouldn't purchase it but thought it was a nice looking morph.

That Python looks like a healthy Mojave morph.

Looks like it has hypo in it. Hard to tell from the pictures how big it is or if the colors are true but I would guess either hypo mojo or hypo pewter.

The bad thing about buying from this store is that not only do you not know what type it is you don't know the genetics, could be het pied, het axanthic, het albino, etc... The price depends on the genes, if you don't know that you can't accurately price this snake. Probably should inform the pet store that if they knew the genetics they could get more (or less), probably have to find out the breeder they got it from and contact them directly. I'd say this pet store doesn't have a clue about ball pythons.

Wow. That's a huge leap to take from the OP using the phrase pet store and taking a picture of a healthy, good looking animal in a clean display cage to what you're accusing them of. How about you set the torch and pitchfork down for a second and think for an extra second.

I'm sure this store has their animals priced at a point they feel is fair for them to get a return on their investment from someone looking to purchase an animal as a pet. Beyond taking good care of them while they're in the store and doing their best to inform their customers of proper care, do they need to be concerned with everything else? Good on them if they are, but I say that's going way above and beyond for what they need to be successful.

A pet store is as good as it's people. You can even find knowledgeable staff in the big box stores. I used to manage the exotics department of one. The goal was never to make money on the animals but the set up and consumables. When I worked there (this was several years ago) we received are snakes from reptiles by mack. They would either come in as 'normal' or 'fancy' with atleast 3 meals in their belly. That's all we knew. We paid around $30 for a normal. They often went on sale for 1/2 price at $40. We rarely sold them at their normal price. By the time you factor in the feed costs (by policy we had to offer food every 5 days), bedding cost (1× a week full change plus a heavy spot cleaning and top off on high traffic days) nor to mention labor and vet visits (if they refused food 3 x in a row vet visit was required and you know how balls are)... yeah we lost money on our ball pythons.

Genetics matter to breeders. The majority of pet store shoppers want a cool looking pet. They couldn't care less if it was het for anything.

Back to topic... any chance this guy was in shed? I doubt it is multigened. Maybe a darker lesser?

Not in shed. My guess is it was somewhere around 600g.
Priced at $349.99. I didn't consider buying it but was more curious of the morph.

600 grams, my guess is hypo mojo then. They come out of the eggs more yellow orange then grey silver out over time. If it was a baby, I would lean toward hypo pewter. Being an adult, hypo mojo.
