    Essential oil Diffuser?

My mom is gonna come visit for a week. She's gonna be staying in my bedroom with my ball python, and wants to use an oil diffuser. It help her sleep.
The oil is cederwood. I know ceder is toxic to repti's but not sure if this cederwood oil would cause her any harm. I don't want to intentionally poison my snake. Thanks

Not just no but oh hell no. I wouldn't use it even for me, cedar oil is often sold as an insecticide and fungicide for gardens.

Oh wow, that's fun. She'll have to use lavender or vanilla. Thank you and I will let her know to stop using it.

I would absolutely not diffuse any essential oils in the same room with reptiles of any kind. I do use a diffuser in my own home, but it is on the opposite end of the house from my reptiles and I do not diffuse any tree oils or citrus oils. Your mom could put a few drops of lavender on a cotton ball and place that on her pillow instead of diffusing the oil. I would consider that to be safe (no cedar in any form though).

It's species dependent, but more often than not true! In a lot of snakes (most colubrids for example, which make up roughly 2/3 of all snakes and include Ball Pythons) the left lung technically exists, but evolution reduced it to a non-functioning stump of an organ in order to save space. In other species, like most boas, the left lung is still functioning but also reduced in size. So yea, a lot of snakes only have one functioning lung, and some other have the left lung reduced to 85% and less. It's also the reason why a snake's respiratory system is so vulnerable, most only have one or one and a half lung, so they gotta treasure it! ; ) [Source]
