    First regurge- kinda my fault

I goofed up a bit. I fed my young Bredli a rat pup on Tuesday night. When I woke up Wednesday morning I noticed he was stuck in the hole of his clay flower pot hide. He must have been stuck in there all night. I tried to entice him out to no avail and finally decided to get a hammer and break the pot to free him. He'd gotten caught in the hole the week prior after a larger meal but managed to squeeze himself in after a while. This time he had a smaller meal so I figured he'd be ok even though the little voice in my head told me to take out the hide. I should have listened. In any event after a few whacks with the hammer he was free and seemed fine. I came back in to check on him before leaving for work and saw him upchuck the previous nights meal. It was still intact and I disposed of it in the woods behind my place. I know it was stressful for him and I'm thinking he's fine now but the plan is to not feed or handle him again for 2-3 weeks and then I'll probably give him really small mouse fuzzy for a couple of feeds before resuming his normal feeding schedule. I've also removed the hide and put in a few of the basic black reptile basic hides. Lesson learned.

That sucks Ziggy but hey there's always a first for everything and like you said lesson learned. Poor thing getting stuck in the pot after a large meal, sounds pretty traumatizing but you didn't really have a choice by the sounds of it.

Good luck, hope the next feed goes well.

Poor little dude. I'm sorry to hear that Ziggy. Things happen, like they say hindsight is 20/20. I would have broke it to get him out too. I'm glad he wasn't injured in the process. I'm sure it was just as stressful for you as it was him. I think that he will be fine with the plan you have laid out for him.

Good plan to wait. While you are get some NutriBAC from TheBeanFarm.com. It's a powdered probiotic for reptiles. I usually just dust a bit on a damp f/t feeder.

Man Zigg, that does suck but I'm sure he will be fine and I'm betting he gets fed again a lot sooner than 2-3 weeks. All of your girls/guys are lucky to be yours.

@ Term- Of course I called Nick when it happened and he told me to give it 3 weeks before feeding him again. Most other sources say 7-14 days but I think I'll err on the side of caution this time. I'll wait at least 14 days.

Sorry to hear of your problem Ziggy. Sounds like you have a good, solid plan set.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

    A good safe decision.

    It will all be fine.

Glad you called Nick too! He's a great guy.

In the wild that could have been the end of his life. So, while I'm all about replicating certain things that occur in the wild, I'm also a big proponent of quality, captive care and assisting these critters in staying out of harms way.

    Good save sir!

We've had to rescue stuck snakes several times; most recently one of the BPs got herself wedged between the sliding glass door and the front panel of a T8. (Klutz!). Don't beat yourself up too hard.
