I really spooked my snake. Need advice.

I just got a Spider ball python from a local breeder and she is extremely nice. Tonight I was holding her and wanted to take a picture of her when she was on the floor spread out. I didn't know the flash was on and it spooked her. When I tryed to pick her up she hissed at me and ended up running into my heat vent. It took me 20 mins to get her out, I ended up using a snake hook which never used before to get her out and then I put her back in her cage quick.

I feel stupid for freaking out when she hissed, I just never been hissed at before. And she was really startled. I used the hook hoping that the incident would be rembered more as the hook then me. She doesn't seem to be hurt at all just really spooked. Should I try holding her tomorow? Maybe offer her a rat?

I really spooked my snake. Need advice.

I accidentally flashed mine early this morning during his shed and spooked him (no hissing) just stared at me in what I think would be a defensive stance and then about a minute later continued the shed. 6 hours later picked him up let him wrap my hand, pet his little head got a nice little kiss from him and after about an hour I put him back so I'm sure you'll be good to go in a little bit if not by now. You were probably more afraid than he was lol.

I think the best way to go is not handling for a few days. If tomorrow is when she's supposed to feed you can try but I don't think you should do it to try to "comfort" her.

I just worry a lil cause I had to like pry her out, I doubt I hurt her as she was moving around and is just chilling on her hide now. She seems calm I just feel like as a snake owner that hiss I should have ignored.

To stop a snake from running off do you just cover it's head or how would you grab a snake that is a spooked?

I would just leave her alone for a bit. If you just got her you need to let her adjust to her new environment, so try not to handle her for a week or so.

My pastave girl hisses at me every now and then when I go to pick her up, but never strikes. Once she's in my hands she calms down immediately and handles great. I wouldn't be too concerned about that. I've heard that if you are nervous and hesitate picking her up you are more likely to have her strike though, or in your case flee.

Im not the most experienced owner but never go for a bps head. When handling always be confident(don't get spooked yourself) and try to grab toward the middle of their body.

Most likely she won't actually strike. I too was hesitant when I was hissed at for the first time, but then I realized it's just a bluff and if not o well. She's not going to kill me.

My male pied is super pissy. Now he will almost always try to get me, but he never hisses. Lol I will admit I'm still working on more confidence with that guy just because he's larger and so aggressive. At the same time it's kind of exciting!

Yeah this female is 6 months and she is huge. Biggest 6 month female the breeder had. She eats real good the breeder said she would prolly even eat today for me.

Nice, big and hungry is what you wish for! Best of luck with her. I'm sure she will chill out for you.
