    Temperature Issues

    Hey there everyone,

I've been a bit perplexed with some heating issues lately. Namely, hotspot issues- I run herpstats on all of my racks and have the probe placed on the 4" flex watt (taped onto the flex watt, not over the probe itself but right behind it). The herpstats are set to 92 degrees, however my temp gun is reading in around 95-110 (depends on which shelf). Ambient temp the room itself is about 70, cool side of the tubs are high 70s to low 80s.

Overall, my issue is in keeping the hotspot at a desirable temperature, while attempting to keep the cool side of the tub warm enough as well. Have any of you run into this issue? Open to suggestions!

Thanks in advance for your time,
    Ryan

    Re: Temperature Issues

Is the rack enclosed? If not that's what I would do first to try to trap some heat. Try moving the probe to different areas of heat tape or even different shelves bc heat tape will often have different temps on the edges and even on other shelves. You may not be able to get them all where you want them and will have to find a happy medium with your temps or have a thermostat for each shelf. If you can't get your cool side up you may need to run heat tape for the cool side as well.
