    breeding with a male pied

Looking into maybe breeding in a few months or a year. ( of course not the for money since i know it can be difficult to sell and make a profit).

I have a male pied and a female pastel(not sure if het). I won't be breeding this 2 together I don't think. I was curious if a pied and banana would be a good mix? Also I know males a can start breeding from 9-18 months of birth, but can they breed at any age as they grow up?

Re: breeding with a male pied

Males are ready to breed when they reach 700-800 grams. The females take longer though, they have to be at 1500 grams or higher. Honestly, go with what you want! A banana and a pied will make banana het pieds or just het pieds. Of course, If you breed a pied to a banana het pied you will have a 1/4 chance of scoring a banana pied! Here are a few other pairings I recommend.

Pied X Pastel het pied = 1/4 chance for pastel pied
Pied x Spider het pied = 1/4 chance for spied (Spider pied)
Pied x yellowbelly het pied= 1/4 chance for yellowbelly pied
Pied x leopard het pied = 1/4 chance for leopard pied.
Pied x mojave het pied = 1/4 chance for a mojave pied.

    Hope this helped!

EDIT- As for your question on whether BP's can breed as they grow up, yes they can! Here Is a more simple way to put it, till they go Into the light
