    Bumi Escaped!

Just had a mini heart attack! We went to weigh everyone and when my husband went to get Bumi the banana lemonblast from his tank, he noticed one of the clips hadn't been put on properly. He lifted his coconut hide and sure enough, no Bumi!

The first place we checked was the nearby closet and curled up in one of my winter boots was a cold but unharmed Bumi. We got him back in his tank and he's curled up under his hide happy as can be.

He wasn't missing for more than fifteen minutes but I realize how badly this could have gone and how lucky we are that he wasn't hurt or worse. I've read my fair share of snake escape horror stories and I'm very relieved that our little guy is okay!

So glad you had a happy ending, you must have been crazed for the time he was gone. My most horrible moment was one day i was checking for poops and not only forgot the top clip, but didn't flip the lock, i guess because it was new and stiff, and just didn't turn it all the way to the locked position. IChores done, i went on the computer i another room. Well my husband comes home from work about 15 mins later and says nugget is out of his cage and just relaxing on the arm of the sofa, which is right next to his cage. Thank god thats as far as he got. So i know that crazed feeling. now i never leave the room after chores till i double check every lock and clip. So don't feel bad it happens to us all.

    Re: Bumi Escaped!

Thanks! Yeah it wasn't a fun time and it makes me appreciate our rack so much more. We only have Bumi in a rank because we ran out of spots in the rack and it didn't make sense to build a second one for just one snake lol. I will forevermore triple check those clips!
