Hi. I've been fostering an eight month old, rescue ball python for about a month. In that time, she's eaten once.
Last Friday, about two weeks after she last ate, I found her having difficulty shedding, despite humidity in the sixties. In addition, she had passed a large amount of very watery stool. Otherwise, she looked alert and healthy, and finished shedding just fine after a good soak. Unfortunately, I had to leave town the next day, but yesterday I got home to find that she had passed, along with some urates, about a teaspoon of a foul-smelling, orange, jellylike substance.
So, is this cause for alarm? I'm thinking of taking a sample to the vet the next time she defecates, but is it safe to try feeding her? She's been slightly more active that usual, but otherwise is behaving normally.
