    BP Squeezing

My bp tends to wrap around my wrist and squeeze pretty hard, I wouldn't say that I'm scared, as he's only 20 inches long.
But in the future I don't want this to be something that I can be in danger of. I've heard that this means that he's literally trying to eat me.
Any and all comments are accepted. I am a new bp owner and want to know as much as possible!

I'm pretty new to BPs myself, but I'm pretty sure he knows that he can't eat you haha. I think he's just trying to get closer to you because of how warm you are.

    Re: BP Squeezing

If it's a heating issue and he does this just after getting him out, I would look into your set up and double check your temps to make sure all is on the up and up.

Other than that, it could just be that he is young and not quite comfortable with being handled yet and just wrapping for security reasons.

    Just my thoughts though.

You should quit getting your information from fools and the otherwise ignorant. Your ball python knows infinitely more than you may think about what it can and can not eat. Your BP may bite you, but no matter how large it gets, it will never attempt to eat you.

It's just holding on for self security. The more you move your arm the more it will hold on. Not trying to harm you just like your not trying to harm it.

    Re: BP Squeezing

I don't think it is, considering I monitor his temps multiple times a day.
Hopefully from what a few other people are saying that since he's just a baby he's holding on for security.

I never really believed it, I only said as a "haha" remark.
Hence why I stumbled across this awesome website and decided to make an account and get opinions from people who are more knowledgeable and experienced.

Sometimes snakes have a sort of hard time slithering on human skin - they sort of stick when there's just a tiny bit of sweat. So the squeezing could just be the snake trying to move when its belly is stuck to your skin.

When mine have been out for a while and are noticeably colder they all wrap around my arm and then it looks like they try to move a little but can't. Well I've checked the temps of the snakes belly before and after doing that to me and there significantly warmer after so I always just assume there doing it to warm up.
Now when you say your monitoring the temps several times a day do you mean you look at the thermometer or take it with a temp gun Do you not have a thermometer in the viv ? I'd advise on getting one or two if not.
