    Male or female? (Popping pictures)

So, I've had my first BP for about a month(got it on the 2nd). So, I was assuming that Kaa was a male because that's that the person who I bought him from told me. So I finally popped him today, and now I'm not so sure. It sorta looks more like scent glands? The only other snake I've popped was a corn snake so..

Best pictures I could get atm:

Won't be too disappointed if he is really a she, a female pastel het pied would be great!

I believe she is a she... I'm not an expert so I'd go with the consensus
    1.0 pewter bee
    1.0 banana het pied
    0.1 pied
    1.1 mahogany
    0.1 golden retriever

Re: Male or female? (Popping pictures)

Here are am couple of videos I uploaded onto YouTube a few years ago, it will show you how I pop ball pythons.

If you want to probe your snake check out this video.

It looks like one of your thumbs needs to be a little further down the tail when you apply pressure. My guess is that it took me about 100 attempts at popping before I had a handle on the technique.

Yes it looks like scent glands, but that doesn't mean it's a female.

Does the person you bought the snake from know how to pop?

If the answer is yes then I would continue popping the snake until you see the peens.

If you have more questions feel free to call me at 408-981-6694, I'll help any way I can.

    Good luck

    Brian

Re: Male or female? (Popping pictures)

The problem with this picture is that unless you are efficient at popping it's hard to tell.

Depending on the size of the animal, your fingers placement, your experience you may just not be able to evert the male's hemipenes.

Have a third party sex the animal for you.
