    Cool Greetings!

First post here! I got my ball python yesterday. He didn't look so good. Part of his tongue appeared to be missing (turns out he was too weak to stick it out), scratches on his neck as if maybe the live prey or a small cat got him. not being fed enough, severely dehydrated with nowhere to soak in water (very small drinking container), no thermometer in his tank, no humidity, and they were heating it with a heating pad (you know, for like, people) with no thermostat. His name is Edgar (as in Poe), I think he'll keep that. I just hope he lives. I don't know how people can keep an animal like that and not know anything about them.

Fast forward to about 6 this morning, he drank his entire bowl of water (never saw a snake actually drink that much) and some more today since then. I pulled him out a little bit ago and held him for about a half hour, expecting to get bit, or at the very least hissed at (the girl that had him for 11 months (he's a little over a year) was oddly afraid of him I had even thought she was going to get bit). Nothing like that at all. He is so happy and loving like we've had him forever, like our other snakes. He's getting his strength back and looks miles better than when we got him here. I thought he was dead when I carried him in the house he was so cold and limp. Didn't think he was going to make it through the night.

Oh, and hello. I am Michael. 36, male, married, from Baltimore originally, lived all over the east coast, like long walks o....... Just ask me something, lol. Looking forward to getting to know y'all and your babies.

Welcome, Michael! It's so heartwarming to hear success stories like yours. That little snake is so grateful to you for rescuing him and I'm sure he couldn't be happier. I sure do love his name haha, and you should try to post of a pic of Edgar sometime!

Hey Mike and welcome to the forum! Glad you recognized the pitfalls and risks the python was under. Hopefully he will thrive with you.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
