Question h0t spot temp in RUB not good

    hello!
    s
o i have a RUB set up with a heat mat beneath it.

the heat mat is a 20W one and is connected to a dimmer thermostat at 89F/90F, plus is more or less snug with the bottom of the RUB but has a few millimeters between them.

i got a thermometer/hygrometer and this is the reading with the sensor on the bottom of the RUB:

    Temp: 26.7C or 80F
    Humidity: 56%

need advice in what do i have to do so the temperature gets higher :S

    (snake is not there yet)

What type of gauge are you using and where are you reading the 80 degrees?
If that is ambient then you are fine?
IF there is a probe on that gauge and its under the substrate then you need to turn your mat up.
Why is there space between your heat mat and the bottom of the tub?
Are you using a dimmer or a real thermostat?
How do you know the temperature of the mat?

    Don't overcomplicate it....
Photos would help out a lot more.

There is a little space between the RUB and the heat mat because the dimming thermostat , its a dimmer thermostat, probe is sandwiched between the two.

I got a new thermometer in the hot spot and is giving a higher reading so probably the problem was from the other thermometer.

    here are some pics:
